Top-Managers of Omsk Oil Refinery Visited Boreskov Institute of Catalysis SB RAS

16 October 2017

On October 11, the top-managers of the largest oil refinery in Russia, AO Gazpromneft-Omskii NPZ led by Director General of Omsk Oil Refinery Oleg Belyavskiy arrived to BIC SB RAS with a field visit. The delegation also listed Deputy Director General for Production Aleksandr Glazov and Chief Process Engineer Dmitry Khrapov.

In BIC the guests were greeted by Director Valerii Bukhtiyarov, Director Deputies for Science Aleksandr Noskov and Vadim Yakovlev, Academic Secretary Denis Kozlov and the researchers from Laboratory of Non-Stationary Catalytic Methods of Gas Treatment. Director General of ZAO NPK “Sintez” (Barnaul), Oleg Parakhin, joined the visit.

“Our goal was to discuss the promising directions of collaboration involving the high potential of Institute of Catalysis, - said Director Deputy for Science Aleksandr Noskov, who organized the visit. – Today Omsk Oil Refinery serves as the basis for building the production of catalysts of hydroprocesses, the development of which is the responsibility of BIC. In addition to that we discussed other possible fields of collaboration related to the use of the methods of mathematical modeling of catalytic processes and the methods of calculating hydrodynamics. These are the directions where the Institute has the experience to be efficiently used.”

Gazpromneft-ONPZ, the affiliated company of Gazprom neft is the top-of-the-line oil refineries and the largest plant in Russia in terms of throughput performance. The plant produces more than 50 kinds of oil products: antiknock fuels, diesel and marine fuels, jet kerosene, bitumen, household gas, furnace oil, industrial Sulphur, and other commercially successful products.

Gazprom neft carries out a full-scale modernization program in Omsk Oil Refinery. The first stage of the program aimed at the improvement of the quality of the oil products has been finished. Its result is the complete switch of the refinery to the manufacturing of the motor and diesel fuel of the highest environmental standard Euro-5. Today the second stage of the modernization program is being fulfilled in Omsk Oil Refinery, which is aimed at the growth of the parameters for oil refining depth and yield of light oil products.
