Works by Researchers of Boreskov Institute of Catalysis Published in Special Issue of Reviews in Chemical Engineering

17 May 2021

One of the leading world review journals on chemical technologies, Reviews in Chemical Engineering, published a special issue completely dedicated to the latest works of the Russian scientists in the field of chemical technologies, including catalysis.

The Special Issue includes the studies of the researchers of Boreskov Institute of Catalysis, International Tomography Center, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, and Semenov Institute of Chemical Physics (Moscow).

“The purpose of this issue is to outline a general idea of the current tendencies and promising studies in the field of chemical technologies developing in Russia, in particular, those of global interest. The idea to make such an issue belongs to Dan Luss, Editor-in-Chief of the journal, Professor of Houston University. He participated in the International Conference on Chemical Reactors “CHEMREACTOR” organized by Boreskov Institute of Catalysis and was quite impressed by the level of investigations presented there”, - says Andrey Zagoruiko, Issue editor, leading researcher of BIC.

The scope of the papers includes the advanced methods of studying and intensification of mass and heat transfer in reacting systems, swirled and membrane technologies, new approaches to the realization of industrial catalytic processes as well as the latest achievements in the field of their mathematical modeling.

Andrey Zagoruiko in his Editorial underlines that the domestic scientific achievements in chemical technologies, on the one hand, continue the traditions by the Russian chemists-technologists, in particular, Vladimir Shukhov, Alexander Bari and Dmitry Mendeleev (developed the first oil cracking process in the world), Sergey Lebedev (invented the industrial rubber synthesis), and Vladimir Ipatieff (founded many modern catalytic processes of oil processing and petrochemistry). On the other hand, they are fit into the world technological context and are at the cutting edge of the today’s science and technology.

The Special Issue can be read here.
