The title “Honorary Professor of Boreskov Institute of Catalysis” is introduced after the decision of BIC Academic Council for the foreign citizens who made outstanding contribution into the development of scientific relations of BIC and the largest foreign universities, research institutions and companies involved into the studies and developments in the field of catalysis and allied subjects, who promote the international rating of the Institute and who support it regardless of the international political environment.
The title “Honorary Professor of Boreskov Institute of Catalysis” is granted for life according to the results of secret ballot of BIC Academic Council with a simple majority of voices.
Statute of the title “Honorary Professor of Boreskov Institute of Catalysis
Alexis T. Bell, the University of California, Berkeley, USA
BIC Honorary Professor (2018)
Professor Bell studies reaction mechanisms to identify the factors limiting the activity and selectivity of catalysts.
Gilbert F. Froment, Professor Emeritus of Ghent University, Belgium, Research Professor of Texas A&M University, USA
BIC Honorary Professor (2018)
The scientist made a major contribution to bridging the gap between basic scientific research in the field of catalysis and solving applied industrial problems.
Claude Mirodatos, Institute of Research on Catalysis and the Environment of Lyon (IRCELYON), France
BIC Honorary Professor (2018)
The scientist’s main interests lie in the field of catalytic reaction mechanisms and kinetics, process development; light alkane activation, biomass and fossil resources co-processing, gas exhaust depolluting.
Prof. Dr. Robert Schlögl, Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society
BIC Honorary Professor (2018)
Robert Schlögl's research focuses primarily on the investigation of heterogeneous catalysts and on the development of nanochemically-optimized materials for energy storage.
